Alexandra Cottage, Windermere, Lake District

A home from home in the Lakes!

About Alexandra Cottage

Alexandra Cottage is a traditional stone terraced Lakeland house built in the late 1800s, with a 20th century loft conversion, and is located in a quiet residential area.

The cottage is set in the charming country town of Windermere in the south of the Lake District.  It sleeps five and offers comfortable, homely accommodation within easy reach of the amenities of the town and Lakeland's many attractions.

Windermere, England's largest lake, is less than a mile from the cottage and can easily be reached on foot, by car or bus (there is a service every 20 minutes at peak times).

Windermere railway station is a 15 minute walk away.  From the station precinct, hourly buses run north to Ambleside, Grasmere and Keswick, and south to Kendal and Lancaster.  There is easy on-street parking in the road outside Alexandra Cottage.

Children are welcome at the cottage - cot and high chair are available.  But no pets or smoking please.

Alexandra Cottage is inspected annually by VisitEngland  and has been awarded a three star rating.

The 599 Lakes Rider bus (open top in summer) provides a regular service between Windermere and Grasmere
